A simple model of the cultural industries (even including software) is made up of three components. They are the creator, the craftsman and the technologist. The creator produces text, stories or objects of an original nature to be expressed in the various media. The craftsman uses the tolls of the media to express the creator's object. The technologist produces, enhances and maintains the tools of the industry. For example: Beethoven is creator, Paganini is craftsman, Stradivarius is technologist. Note: It is possible to be in more than one role.
Today technology is changing quickly, it is fashionable and it seduces people to expend their time and resources on the technology rather than on their crafts or creations. This ts. This technological seduction produces inefficiencies and frustration.
