The Regina Five were five young painters who befriended Kenneth Nolan(1924-2010) and Barnett Newman(1905-1970) at the Emma Lake Workshop. They advanced the abstract expressionism of their friends so much that clement Greenberg(1909-1994), the famous New York critic recognized and promoted their work
