Kenneth Lochhead was born in Ottawa on May 22, 1926. He attended the Summer Art School at Queens's University in 1944, as well as the University of Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art from 1945 to 1948. He was then chosen to be the Director of the School of Art at the University of Saskatchewan. He was known as the "Kingpin" of the Regina Five. He died at the age of 80 in Ottawa on July 15, 2006.
