Michele Sereda (1969-2015)
Michele Sereda was the founder and Artistic Director of Curtain Razors, an experimental theatre company based in Regina. The company encourages the practice of modern theatre in Saskatchewan, across Canada, and internationally. As an award-winning multi-media theatre and performance artist, Sereda collaborated on numerous exhibitions, theatrical productions, site-specific performance art installations, dance, film and programs for new and developing artists. She had a particular commitment to and rapport with Saskatchewan's indigenous community, while maintaining a strong connection to the international performance arts community. She died in 2015 with Calgarians Michael Green and Narcisse Blood. Green was the co-founder and Co-Artistic Director of the internationally acclaimed One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre in Calgary, Alberta, and also the founder and Curator of the annual High Performance Rodeo, Calgary’s international festival of the arts. Narcisse Blood was a well-respected filmmaker and educator. A fifth victim, Morley Hartenberger, also died in the accident.
