Jean Oser is an internationally known film editor.

He moved to Regina, Saskatchewan in 1970 to establish a film school at the University of Regina. Jean taught film history and aesthetics.

In 1990, Jean became a University of Regina Professor Emeritus.

Jean received a Lifetime Award for Excellence in the Arts from the Saskatchewan Arts Board in 1991.
