Joel Hustak was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. In April 2010, he graduated with a bachelor of applied arts, majoring in illustration at Sheridan College. He specializes in character, creature, and environment illustration for the entertainment industry.
He has worked on a variety of different projects such as 2d game art for both iPod and Facebook games, storyboards for TV commercials, and illustrations for Tabletop Card Games and books. The majority of his artwork is created digitally with a Wacom Tablet and Photoshop. However, Joel also uses a variety of traditional mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor, acrylic, and oils.
